Hajj Packages From Canada: 5-Star Hotels, Mina Camp Category and Quota Registration

Umrah Packages Canada's Hajj Packages cover the full 5-star Canadian Hajj service for pilgrims fulfilling the obligatory pilgrimage of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) in the month of Dhul Hijjah. Our Hajj packages run 21 to 28 nights and covers the Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah rites through the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah quota system, which differs sharply from the Nusuk eVisa route used for Umrah. Hajj registration operates on an annual national quota per Canadian passport-holding pilgrim, with permitted operators only, and our team walks you through the Ministry-approved registration and Hajj visa issuance well ahead of the pilgrimage window.

Makkah is anchored at Swissotel Al Maqam (Accor), Pullman Zamzam Makkah, Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower, Hilton Makkah Convention, or Anjum Hotel, with the Madinah portion held at Pullman Zamzam Madinah or InterContinental Dar al Hijra, and Mina camp accommodation coordinated to Ministry-issued specifications. Flights operate on Saudia, Emirates YYZ-DXB-JED, Turkish Airlines YYZ-IST-JED, and Qatar Airways into King Abdulaziz International (JED). Hajj packages carry a materially different cost structure than Umrah, itemised in Canadian dollars, with every deposit under TICO Ontario protection.

Chosen by first-time Hajj pilgrims, Canadian citizen families fulfilling the obligation together, and mosque groups booking their annual quota allocation. Departures coordinated from Toronto (YYZ), Montreal (YUL), Calgary (YYC), Ottawa (YOW), Vancouver (YVR), Edmonton (YEG), and every other Canadian departure city we serve.

Five Days of Rites. Twenty-Eight Nights of Travel. One Obligation.

Umrah Packages Canada is a TICO-registered Umrah and Hajj specialist based in Toronto, with 20+ years of Umrah and Hajj coordination experience and departures from every major Canadian airport. Our Hajj packages start from one fact: Hajj is not a longer Umrah. It is a different pilgrimage with different obligations, fixed dates from the 8th to the 13th of Dhul Hijjah, a Saudi quota that caps how many Canadians can go in a given year, and a set of rites at Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah that have no equivalent in Umrah. Those rites retrace the steps of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), Hajar, and Ismail (AS), culminating in the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha.

A full 5-star Hajj package from Canada costs $15,250 to $18,250 CAD across 21 to 28 nights. That figure covers return flights from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) or Montreal Trudeau (YUL), the Hajj visa, accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, an Umrah performed on arrival, the camp arrangements during the days of the rites, transport between the sites, Ziyarat in Madinah, and the coordination that makes the whole thing function. It is a materially different product from a $750 CAD Umrah land-only package, and the gap is not markup.

We publish this page in part because a large share of the people searching for Umrah packages are actually asking about Hajj, or trying to work out which one they mean.

Hajj or Umrah? Obligation, Dhul Hijjah Dates, Quota and Cost Compared

Obligation. Hajj is one of the five pillars, obligatory once in a lifetime for those able. Umrah is voluntary and can be repeated.

Timing. Hajj happens on fixed dates in Dhul Hijjah, with Hajj 2027 expected in mid-May 2027. Umrah can be performed year-round, which is why our Umrah pages talk about seasons and premiums rather than a single window.

Availability. Hajj is subject to a Saudi quota allocated by country. Umrah is not quota-limited in the same way. This is the structural fact that shapes everything about planning Hajj from Canada.

Rites. Hajj includes standing at Arafat, the overnight gathering at Muzdalifah, the stay at Mina, and the stoning at the Jamarat, alongside Tawaf and Sa’i. Umrah consists of Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and the shortening or shaving of hair. Most Canadian pilgrims perform Hajj al-Tamattu, which means completing an Umrah on arrival in Makkah before entering Ihram again for Hajj.

Duration and cost. Hajj runs 21 to 28 nights at $15,250 to $18,250 CAD (2026 pricing). Umrah runs five to twelve nights at $750 to $3,299 CAD.

If your situation calls for Umrah rather than Hajj this year, the Umrah packages hub sets out the four CAD tiers in full.

How Hajj Packages From Canada Work: Saudi Quota, Nusuk Registration and Hajj Visa

This is the hardest conversation in Canadian Hajj travel, and the one most often avoided until a deposit has changed hands.

Saudi Arabia allocates Hajj places by country. Canadian availability is therefore capped rather than open, and demand consistently exceeds what is allocated. That produces a registration process through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s Nusuk channel rather than a simple booking, a Hajj visa issued only against a confirmed place, and it means the honest answer to “can I go this year” is sometimes no.

We would rather say that at the first conversation. Whether you are in Scarborough, Mississauga, Cote-des-Neiges, or Surrey, our team explains the registration route that applies to your circumstances, what the realistic timeline looks like, and what documentation needs preparing regardless of which year you travel. If a place is not available, Umrah remains open year-round on the Nusuk eVisa, and many pilgrims travel for Umrah while waiting.

What we will not do is take a deposit against a place that does not exist.

Why the Mina Camp Category Decides How the Days of Hajj Feel

Once quota and registration are settled, the two variables that most shape the experience are accommodation standard in Makkah and Madinah, and the camp category at Mina.

The days of the rites involve heat, distance, dense crowds, and limited sleep. Moving from Mina on 8 Dhul Hijjah to Arafat on the 9th, then to Muzdalifah overnight, then back to Mina for the Jamarat and the Eid al-Adha sacrifice, is the most demanding movement in the Islamic calendar. The category of tent, the distance of the camp from the Jamarat, and the transport arrangement between sites determine how physically difficult those days are.

For a pilgrim in their sixties or seventies, this is not a comfort question. It is the difference between completing the rites with dignity and struggling through them. We set the arrangements out in writing, including camp category and transport, before any commitment.

The 5-star hotel standard either side of the rites serves the same purpose: rest at Swissotel Al Maqam, Pullman Zamzam Makkah, or Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower before the demanding days, and recovery in Madinah at Pullman Zamzam Madinah or InterContinental Dar al Hijra after them.

Is a Five-Figure Hajj Deposit Safe? What TICO Registration Covers

A Hajj deposit is an order of magnitude larger than an Umrah deposit, often paid a long time ahead of travel. That makes the question of who is holding your money considerably more serious.

As a TICO-registered Ontario travel seller, we operate under the province’s Travel Industry Act. Your payment is protected by provincial consumer protection legislation from the moment it is made, and what we contract must be issued exactly as agreed. Given the sums involved in Hajj and the length of the planning horizon, that protection is the most important single feature of booking with a registered operator rather than an intermediary.

It also means the itemised written quote is not optional. Camp category, hotel standard, duration, and transport all appear as their own lines.

Start With an Honest Answer, Not a Price

Hajj planning does not begin with a price. It begins with an honest assessment of quota, timing, health, and finances, and the first conversation costs nothing.

Send your situation through the quote form: who is travelling, approximate ages, which year you are aiming for, and whether you have started any registration already. If you searched for a Hajj travel agency near you, the Umrah Packages Canada team works with pilgrims and mosque groups from Brampton to Calgary by phone and written quote. We respond in writing within four business hours with what is realistic, what needs preparing, and what the full 5-star service would cost for your party. If Umrah is the better answer this year, we will say that too.

Why Choose Us

Why Canadian Pilgrims Choose Us for Hajj Packages

20+ Years of Umrah Coordination Experience

Over two decades of TICO-registered Umrah and Hajj coordination for Canadian pilgrims, with a working knowledge of Nusuk filings, Haram-front hotel blocks, Saudi ground transfers, and PR-card visa eligibility that most Canadian agencies do not touch.

Straight talk about quota

Hajj is capped and allocated. The Umrah Packages Canada team tells you what is realistically available before taking a deposit, which is not universal in this market.

Full 5-star service

Across 21 to 28 nights the standard of accommodation and camp category shapes the entire experience, particularly for older pilgrims.

Rites logistics planned

Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah, and the Jamarat involve the most demanding movement in the Islamic calendar. It is coordinated in advance.

Hajj versus Umrah, explained

Many enquiries confuse the two. We set out the difference in obligation, timing, cost, and duration so you book the right pilgrimage.

TICO registered

Hajj deposits are large and paid far ahead. Ontario's Travel Industry Act protection applies from the first payment.

One team throughout

The same Travel Specialists who handle documentation coordinate the ground arrangements, so nothing is handed off mid-process.

How It Works

How Hajj Packages Works, Step by Step

  1. 1

    Understand the quota

Hajj is capped and allocated, unlike Umrah. We explain the registration route that applies to Canadian pilgrims before anything else is discussed.

  2. 2

    Register and document

Documentation, the meningococcal ACWY vaccination, Nusuk registration, and the Hajj visa are handled well ahead of Dhul Hijjah rather than in the final weeks. An Umrah eVisa or tourist visa is not valid for Hajj.

  3. 3

    Itinerary and camp category

The Mina camp category, the Arafat and Muzdalifah arrangements, and the hotel standard in Makkah and Madinah are all confirmed in writing.

  4. 4

    Rites coordination

Movement between Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah, and the Jamarat is the hardest logistics in the Islamic calendar. It is planned, not improvised.

  5. 5

    Travel and return

Full 5-star service throughout, including Ziyarat in Madinah, ending with Tawaf al-Wada and the return departure from Jeddah (JED) or Madinah (MED) to Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, or Vancouver.

Hajj Packages Questions, Answered

What is the difference between Hajj and Umrah packages?

Hajj is the obligatory pilgrimage performed on fixed dates in the month of Dhul Hijjah, subject to a Saudi quota, and includes the Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah rites. It runs 21 to 28 nights from $15,250 CAD. Umrah is voluntary, can be performed year-round, takes five to twelve nights, and starts at $750 CAD.

How much does a Hajj package from Canada cost?

A full 5-star Hajj package from Canada costs $15,250 to $18,250 CAD depending on duration, camp category at Mina, and hotel standard in Makkah and Madinah. The figure reflects the length of the itinerary and the complexity of the rites coordination, not simply a higher hotel tier.

How long is a Hajj itinerary from Canada?

Typically 21 to 28 nights. That covers the arrival, the days of the rites at Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, the stay in Makkah, and an extended period in Madinah. Hajj cannot be compressed the way a short Umrah trip can.

What is the Saudi Hajj quota and how does it affect booking?

Saudi Arabia allocates Hajj places by country, which means Canadian availability is capped rather than open. Canadian pilgrims register through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's Nusuk channel and travel with a permitted operator, and only a confirmed place leads to a Hajj visa. We explain the registration route that applies to your situation before taking any deposit.

What are the Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah rites?

They are the core days of Hajj. Pilgrims stay in tents at Mina, stand at Arafat on the Day of Arafah, gather at Muzdalifah overnight, and perform the stoning at the Jamarat. The movement between these sites over a few days is the most demanding logistics in the Islamic calendar, which is why camp category and transport arrangements matter so much.

Can I perform Umrah instead if I cannot secure a Hajj place?

Yes. Umrah is voluntary, available throughout the year, and starts at $750 CAD for a land-only package. Many Canadian pilgrims perform Umrah while waiting for a Hajj opportunity, and several perform it repeatedly. The two are not substitutes in obligation, but they are both journeys to the same sanctuary.

Is Hajj suitable for elderly or less mobile pilgrims?

Hajj is physically demanding, considerably more so than Umrah. The days at Mina and Arafat involve heat, distance between sites, and dense crowds over five days. For elderly or less mobile pilgrims, the camp category, the camp's distance from the Jamarat, and the transport between Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah should be chosen accordingly and confirmed in writing before booking.

How far ahead should I plan a Hajj package?

Start at least a year ahead, and often longer, because of the quota. Hajj 2027 (1448 AH) is expected in mid-May 2027, subject to moon sighting, and Nusuk registration, the meningococcal ACWY vaccination, passport validity, and the deposit all need lead time before that. A first conversation costs nothing and clarifies what is realistic for your year.

Is my Hajj deposit protected?

Yes. As a TICO-registered Ontario travel seller we operate under the province's Travel Industry Act, and your deposit is protected by provincial consumer protection legislation from the first payment. Given the size of a Hajj deposit, this matters more here than anywhere else in our service.

Can I use an Umrah eVisa or tourist visa to perform Hajj from Canada?

No. Saudi Arabia only permits Hajj on a Hajj visa issued against a confirmed place through the official registration channel, and pilgrims without a Hajj permit are turned away from the holy sites during Dhul Hijjah. A Nusuk Umrah eVisa or tourist visa covers Umrah only. Our team handles the Hajj visa as part of every Hajj package.
